Dagny Starn

Dagny Starn is a founding partner at Bright Light Strategies. A Sacramento native, Dagny has worked in State Politics for over 20 years. As a strategist and operations specialist, Dagny has worked on all levels of candidate and initiative campaigns, coalition management and creative development of message delivery.

Dagny began her adventures in the political world of California working in the California Legislature for Assemblymember George Nakano and later for the Assembly Democratic Caucus, where she built many relationships working with Legislators, staff and constituents. After working for the legislature, she caught the political bug and went to work at Kaufman Campaign Consultants for 17+ years, where she learned the in's and out's of candidate campaigns as well as the state-wide initiative campaign process from the best. Dagny had her hand in all aspects of campaigns from building out a campaign strategy, to coalition building and management, budgeting, research and communication as well as media buys. She has significant expertise across multiple areas of business, advocacy and campaign management as well as working with a variety of major statewide associations.

Dagny lives in Sacramento, California with her husband Dean and their daughter Addison. She graduated from the University of California, Santa Barbara with a Bachelor's in Political Science and Art History. When not working, she loves spending time with Husband, Daughter and family.
